CORSO Commerce, LLC (“CORSO”) is committed to ensuring the security and protection of the personal information that we possess.  This Privacy Policy includes (a) a list of our products or services and processes that gather personal data; (b) the purpose and legal basis for processing personal data; (c) the persons or entities with whom we share personal data; (d) how long we maintain personal data; and (e) your privacy rights. This Privacy Policy applies to:

  1. All information we collect through the services and products we offer, including but not limited to our website (the “Website”), our applications, including mobile applications, any affiliated or non-affiliated third-party sites, including but not limited to Shopify, and all social media platforms (collectively, and together with the Website, the “Sites”). 
  2. All current, potential, and former customers, employees, vendors, third parties, and/or any other person whose personal data we have collected electronically, in-person or otherwise.

Special Note for Parents: The Sites are general audience sites and are not designed or intended to target children younger than 16. We do not knowingly target or collect personal information from any person younger than 16.

What Product or Services Do We Provide?

CORSO provides declared value shipping protection and carbon offset products and services.

What Information Do We Collect and How Do We use Information?

CORSO processes data both as a Processor and a Controller.

Information We Collect Automatically.  If you use the Website or Sites, read or download information, your web browser automatically sends us information including one or more of the following: 

  • The Internet domain through which you access the internet;
  • Internet protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using;
  • Type of browser software operating system you are using and browser language;
  • The date and time you accessed the Website and/or the Sites;
  • Your registration data, and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser;
  • The specific path, actions, and navigation choices you make;
  • The internet address of the site from which you linked the Website or Sites; and
  • Information about your location and your mobile device, including a unique identifier for your mobile device

Information You Give To Us.  If you are an employee, customer, or you otherwise use or purchase our goods or services, we receive and store information you enter on the Website, the Sites, or that you give us in-person, via telephone, email, or otherwise. We collect your name, address, email address, phone numbers, company information, your position or title, business specifics such as past orders and payment methods (not including PCI data), and payment terms.  We collect this information in order to:

  • Respond to your inquiries;
  • Provide goods and services you request;
  • Send you newsletters, updates, marketing, and event information; 
  • Create and maintain contact information;
  • Evaluate how you use the website;
  • Comply with legal obligations; 
  • Personalize the website’s content, business information or user experience;
  • Set up and administer an account;
  • Conduct polls and surveys; 
  • Conduct internal research and development; 
  • Personalize content, business information and user experience;
  • Meet internal audit requirements;

Financial Information. While we process your personal financial information for one-time use when you purchase our services or products, we do not retain such information after such one-time use.

  • It is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a part, or to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
  • It is necessary for us to comply with a legal obligation.

Information We Collect From Others.  We may also collect information about you from third parties that operate (a) portions of the Website and/or the Sites on our behalf. These third parties may collect your name, address, email address, phone numbers, company information, and your position or title. When we obtain personal data from third parties, we will treat the acquired information like the information that we collect ourselves. We collect this information in order to:

  • Better provide the services and products we offer;
  • Monitor and analyze web traffic and online behavior for search engine optimization and social media marketing;
  • Host data files that enable the Sites to function, be distributed, and to provide specific features or parts of the Sites;
  • Manage a database of email information, phone information, or other information to communicate with you;
  • Allow you to invite your friends to share our message, engage our services, or purchase products; and
  • View and incorporate content hosted on external sites

How We Collect Information From Others. We may use cookies to recognize you when you return to the Website or Sites to provide you with a better user experience. We also allow our affiliates and third-party vendors to use cookies on our Website or Sites; some of these parties may use cookies in ways that we do not. You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of the Website or Sites. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site. 

  • Facebook, Instagram, & Google. Technologies like cookies, pixel tags, device or other identifiers and local storage are used to deliver, secure, and understand products, services, and ads, on and off Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and related social media platforms. These applications are also used to gather information for remarketing to similar audiences on our Sites. Because of this, third-party vendors, including Google, show our ads on sites across the internet. This technology allows third-party vendors, including Google, to use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to our Sites. You may opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You may also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Do We Share Information With Third Parties?

We take reasonable precautions to be sure that nonaffiliated third parties and affiliates, to whom we disclose your personally identifiable information are aware of this Privacy Policy and will treat the information in a similarly responsible manner. Our contracts and written agreements with nonaffiliated third parties that receive information from us about you prohibit those parties from transferring the information other than to provide the service that you obtain from us.

We do not sell your personal information and will not disclose your personal information to third parties except to provide you with information or services you request, deliver our products or services that include your personal information, or under certain circumstances as described in this Privacy Policy.

Your Consent. We may share personal data with your consent.

Disclosure For Legal Reasons. We may release personal data to third parties: (1) to comply with valid legal requirements such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; or (2) in special cases, such as a physical threat to you or others, a threat to homeland security, a threat to our system or network, or cases in which we believe it is reasonably necessary to investigate or prevent harm, fraud, abuse, or illegal conduct. We may also disclose personal data where needed to affect the sale or transfer of business assets, to enforce our rights, protect our property, or protect the rights, property or safety of others, or as needed to support external auditing, compliance and corporate governance functions.

Agents & Contractors. Our contractors sometimes have access to your personal data in the course of assisting in the operation of our business and providing products or services to you. These contractors include vendors and suppliers that provide us with technology, services, and/or content for the operation and maintenance of the Sites and the products and services. Some of these relationships may be with companies that co-brand portions of their site and services, or that provide services to you on our behalf. Co-branded sites may have their own privacy policies posted on their sites. If you visit a co-branded site, please read the privacy policy that is posted on that site. Access to your personal information by these contractors is limited to the information reasonably necessary for the contractor to perform its limited function. Contractors have an obligation under their contracts with us to keep your information confidential and to comply with our privacy and security policies.

Links To Other Sites. Other than links to our Sites, we may provide links to third party sites that might be of interest to you. When you click on one of those links, we will not provide any personal information about you, but may let the site know that you came from the Website and/or Sites. We do not control the privacy practices and policies of other sites. Please read their privacy policies in order to understand what information they collect about you and how they use it.

Aggregated, Non-Personal Information. We may share aggregated, non-personal information about you with third parties. This is information that is combined with the non-personal information of other users and does not allow you to be identified or contacted. Depending on the circumstances, we may or may not charge third parties for this aggregated information. We also may not limit the third parties’ use of the aggregated information.

Changes In Our Corporate Structure. If all or part of CORSO is merged, acquired or otherwise transferred to another entity, the personal data you have provided to us may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take steps to ensure that any personal data that is transferred will not be used or shared in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy, as it may be amended.

How and Where Do We Process and Store Data?

Purposes of Processing. We process personal data for the following reasons:

  • To better provide the services and products we offer;
  • To monitor and analyze web traffic and online behavior for search engine optimization and social media marketing;
  • Hosting data files that enable the Sites to function, be distributed, and to provide specific features or parts of the Sites;
  • To manage a database of email information, phone information, or other information to communicate with you;

Methods of Processing. The data processing is carried out in accordance with our privacy procedures and policies and using computers and/or related software and IT tools. In some cases, the data may be accessible to certain types of (i) internal parties in charge or involved with the operation of our Sites, products and services (i.e., administration, legal, sales and marketing, etc.) or (ii) external parties who assist us in providing, operating, and maintaining our Sites, products and services, (i.e., third-party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, communications agencies).  Still, we notify both internal and external parties of this Privacy Policy and require that internal parties (through employment agreements and related employment policies) and external parties (through written agreements) keep and maintain the data in accordance with the safeguards described in this Privacy Policy and privacy policies and procedures. 

Third-Party Processing. We are committed to minimizing the number of third-party processers we utilize in order to lower the risks of your data being exposed. We assess and review each of our third-party processers to ensure that they are in compliance with this Privacy Policy. We currently use Shopify as a third-party processor and may use other third-party processors in the future.

Place of Processing and International Transfers. When possible, we seek to process your personal data in the country in which it was collected. However, we are a United States based for-profit limited liability company that operates worldwide, including in the European Union. To provide, operate, and maintain our Sites, products and services, we store all personal data in the United States. Therefore, we may transfer personal data to countries other than the country in which the data was originally collected. If you are located in the European Economic Area, we will only transfer your personal data if we have put in place appropriate safeguards in respect of the transfer (i.e., we have entered into EU standard contractual clauses with the recipient, or the recipient is a party to binding corporate rules).

How Do We Protect Personal Data?

CORSO protects data using administrative, technical, and physical safeguards.  When we use third-party service providers, we ask those providers to implement similar safeguards. However, we cannot guaranty that your information is completely secure either within CORSO or on the systems of third-party service providers.

How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Data?

We retain personal data we collect from you when we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (i.e., to provide you with the products and services you have requested or to comply with applicable legal requirements). When we no longer have an ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, will securely store your personal data and, if possible, isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

What Are Your Rights?

Withdrawing Consent. Where you have previously provided us with consent to the collection and processing of data, you have the right to withdraw your consent.

Objecting to Processing. In certain cases, you have the right to object to processing of your personal data, including with regards to profiling. Additionally, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in so far as such data have been collected for direct marketing purposes.

Accessing. You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you are processed, and, where that is the case, you have the right to request and get access to that personal data.

Rectifying. You have the right to obtain from us the rectification of inaccurate personal data and you have the right to provide additional personal data to complete any incomplete personal data.

Erasing. In certain cases, you have the right to obtain from us the erasure of your personal data.

Data Portability. Where data is processed pursuant to (i) your consent, (ii) a contract to which you are a part of or relating to pre-contractual negotiations thereof, (iii) automated means: you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine readable format and you have the right to transmit such personal data to another controller.

Objecting to Automated Individual Decision-Making. You have the right to not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing.

Lodging Complaints. You have the right to file complaints with your data protection authority.

How Do You Exercise Your Rights? 

If you would like to exercise any of the rights provided in the Privacy Policy applicable to you, please direct your inquiry to our contact information provided below. Unless your request is complex, repetitive, and/or manifestly unfounded or excessive, we should (in most cases) be able to process your request within one month and free of charge.
