Morocco: a mosaic of cultures
Morocco is considered one of
the most romantic countries in the world. It boasts a heady mix of
European, African, Moslem and Berber cultures along with legendary
cities, ancient mud-brick kasbahs, rolling sand dunes, snow-capped
mountains and an extensive and largely undeveloped coastline.
Between
the Mediterranean and Atlantic , Europe and Africa , Morocco has always
been a land of exchanges and encounters. Since early Antiquity, it has
been a land of successive invasions, by the Phoenicians, then the Romans
and the Byzantines. Here, Berber, Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures
have learnt to live together. Each has contributed its genius, making
Morocco a land of tolerance and shared beauty.
Moroccan handicrafts – particularly leatherwear have been exported from
region since the 16th Century. In addition to leather, goods include
carpets, decorated pottery and ceramics, silver jewellery, embossed
brass, lamps and copperware, sculpted wood, and basket ware
The

and fascinating artefacts come together at Corso De’ Fiori with fabrics

In the world of Interior Design especially in Paris the Moroccan “feel”
is extremely important. The home of Yves St Laurent in France for
example, exudes the atmosphere of Marrakech.
